The Legend of the Sand Dollar<\/h1>\n

Version One :
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

The legend of the Sand Dollar
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

There’s a pretty little legend
\nThat I would like to tell
\nOf the birth and death of Jesus
\nFound in this lowly shell.
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

If you examine closely,
\nYou’ll see that you find here
\nFour nail holes and a fifth one
\nMade by a Roman’s spear.
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

On one side the Easter lily,
\nIts center is the star
\nThat appeared unto the shepherds
\nAnd led them from afar.
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

The Christmas poinsettia,
\nEtched on the other side
\nReminds us of His birthday,
\nOur happy Christmastide.
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

Now break the center open,
\nAnd here you will release
\nThe five white doves awaiting
\nTo spread Good will and peace.
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

This simple little symbol,
\nChrist left for you and me
\nTo help us spread His Gospel
\nThrough all eternity.
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

Version Two :
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

Upon this odd-shaped sea shell
\nA legend grand is told
\nAbout the life of Jesus
\nThe wondrous tale of old
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

The center marking plainly shows
\nThe well known Guiding Star
\nThat led to tiny Bethlehem
\nThe Wise Men from afar
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

The Christmas flower, Poinsettia
\nFor His Nativity
\nThe Resurrection too is marked
\nThe Easter Lily, see
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

Five wounds were suffered by our Lord
\nFrom nails and Roman’s spear
\nWhen He died for us on the cross
\nThe wounds show plainly here
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

Within the shell, should it be broke,
\nFive Doves of Peace are found
\nTo emphasize this legend
\nSo may Love and Peace abound
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

The Sand Dollar Legend
\n<\/strong><\/big><\/p>\n

Upon this odd-shaped seashell a legend grand is told,
\nabout the life of Jesus, that wondrous tale of old.
\nAt its center you will see, there seems to be a star,
\nlike the one that led the shepherds and <\/big>wise men<\/big> from afar.
\nAround its surface are the marks of nails and thorns and spear,
\nsuffered by Christ upon the cross; the wounds show plainly here.
\nBut there is also an Easter lily, clear for us to see,
\nthe symbol of Christ’s resurrection for all eternity.
