However, in Canada, Epilepsy Awareness Month is in March. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epilepsyfoundation.org\/about\/\">Epilepsy Foundation<\/a>, seizures are caused by a brief, sudden strong surge of electrical activity that affects part or all of the brain. Epilepsy is not always a life long disease. It can affect people only at certain stages of their life (childhood, etc.). The ribbon color for Epilepsy awareness is lavender.
