Increasingly youth camps are offering long sleeve shirts instead of, or in addition to, short sleeve tshirts.
Camps print their logo, message, and sometimes signatures of all the campers on the shirts. The long sleeved t-shirts offer a bit of additional warmth on cool days, or in the early and later parts of the day. Additionally, long sleeve tshirts offer protection against sun and bugs. The long sleeves also protect arms from branches and thorns when on nature hikes or playing a serious game of capture the flag.

While you may be accustomed to youth long sleeve shirts coming in only 50/50 blends (which are really too hot to wear in the summer), now many options are available in long sleeve shirts with 90-100% cotton material. The cotton shirts are much cooler to wear because they breathe better (this is especially important when worn over a sunburned back or arms).

Many Summer Kids Camps break into different groups. These groups can easily be identified by having a different color tshirt for each group. Often Camp counselors will all wear one color of shirt, so they can easily be spotted if someone needs to find them.
