Split Fountain Screen Printing Examples

Split fountain screen printing is a classic screen printing method that was popular in the 80’s and 90’s to achieve a multi-color and rainbow imprint on fabrics. With modern digital imprint transfers and digital direct to fabric printing this artist printing method is no longer common, but can still be done on request for many of our screen printed items like tote bags, shirts, and other apparel. Splint fountain printing requires a very skilled screen printer to get a consistent look, and even then one of the retro aspects of the technique is that each custom printed piece will have a slightly different look and blend of colors as the different colors are pulled across the screen and blended together.
