Drinking beer is about more than just taste. Drinking beer is an experience of all 5 senses. Nucleation is etching on the inside surface of the bottom of glassware to give dissolved CO₂ gases a rough surface to form bubbles on. These bubbles are a critical part of beer as they give it the look, feel, and aroma that makes beer, well beer. These bubbles rising to the surface collect and carry the aroma of the beer. As they collect on the surface the head that is formed is formed faster and is retained longer with a smoother texture as the bubbles don’t have to get as big to form and rise. The carried volatiles of the beer in the bubbles enhance the flavors and create a fresher taste from start to finish.
