Mother decided that 10-year-old Cathy should get something ‘practical’ for her birthday.
“Suppose we open a savings account for you?” mother suggested. Cathy was delighted.
“It’s your account, darling,” mother said as they arrived at the bank, “so you fill out the application.”
Cathy was doing fine until she came to the space for ‘Name of your former bank.’ After a slight hesitation, she put down ‘Piggy.’
People sometimes just see piggy banks as cute collectibles, and they can be, but they also can be used to hold money! What a concept, huh?! Piggy banks, bear banks, or any other type of bank is a great way to help budget or get a kid started on their savings. Giving banks as a promotional or gift is such a good idea, especially for banks and other financial companies because when the time comes to use or save that money guess what “piggy” will say. He have your name and logo printed on him and point them toward you. Or they can stick him on a shelf and say, “Aww, how cute!” But even still the bank will be there giving them the idea to use you.
