Support Children With Rare Diseases

While searching through all of the different colors and meanings of awareness ribbons this one stuck out the most to me. The burgundy awareness ribbon has many different meanings to it and again only one meaning stuck out, “children undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with rare disorders or diseases”. We always see and hear about the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants children’s wishes to give them a life-changing experience. You can raise awareness by handing out these burgundy lapel pins. These pins can be used for fund raising events at hospitals, for specific families trying to put a child through a medical procedure, etc. Other meanings of the burgundy/maroon awareness pin includes hospice care, multiple myeloma, cesarian sections, headaches and migraines, adhesions, thrombophilia and other blood factor and coagulation disorders, meningitis, polio survivors, and many more.
